It's hard to believe that almost a month has gone by since my last post.
Since then we've visited Phoenix, Sedona, and now are in Palm Springs, Ca.
But I'm getting ahead of myself....
In Phoenix we stayed at one of our mainstays... Lake Pleasant Park.
I've covered Lake Pleasant many times so I wont go into it here again,
but we did have a great time here with Rob and Pat.
The Hummingbirds loved visiting Pats feeder and put on a show for us
each night at Happy Hour.

We went for a Saturday afternoon visit to Cave Creek and had lunch at El Encanto.
Its a quirky place with a pond, gardens, and a whole Oasis in the Desert
thing going on.
Its March in Phoenix and that means Spring Training!
As usual our time flew by and soon we headed north to Cottonwood, Az where
we stayed in Dead Horse Ranch State Park.
This is a central location to visit Sedona, Prescott, and the nearby Native American ruins.
Tuzigoot National Monument is one of the ruins which is a remnant of a vast
Native American Civilization that spanned this area of the country.
About 20 miles east of Tuzigoot is Montezumas Castle National Monument.
No visit to Cottonwood would be nearly complete without a visit to Sedona.
The Red Rock Country here is just beautiful.
We took a few hikes with the dogs who attracted attention everywhere they went.

Cottonwood was our place to say good-bye to Rob and Pat who would be heading
back north to Canada.
A delicious meal of Roast Beet with Yorkshire Pudding prepared by R&P was enjoyed by all.
Then we were off preparing for the next leg of our adventure.
We have an appointment in Redlands, Ca on Monday to have an alignment check/adjustment
performed on the bus, so enroute we stopped in Palm Springs which is only an hour away
from Redlands.
We spent 4 nights living the luxury lifestyle at the Motorcoach Country Club.

Its now Sunday and time to cross over to Redlands.
Redlands Truck & RV has their own RV Park so we will spend tonight there
in anticipation of our 7am appointment tomorrow morning.
After we get finished in Redlands it will be east to Casa Grande for a few nights,
then 10 nights in Catalina State Park where we'll take care of last minute details prior
to our dash to the east coast and the start of our next BIG ADVENTURE!
Stay tuned... in May we will be Kicking it up a Notch!
Quite enjoyed reading this, as we just got back from the Indio area ourselves, after staying at Indio Waters RV Resort. We had just purchased our Tiffin Phaeton in Phoenix, as well as the Honda CRV the previous owners where selling as well. It came with the hitch and braking system for the car, so we thought it would make a good fit, plus my wife was due for a vehicle upgrade!
ReplyDeleteLast year, with our truck & camper we went to Palm Springs for a week, then headed to Arizona, down to Tombstone, then back up through Sedona, then to Flagstaff, then over to Lake Havasu, before heading home here in southern British Columbia.
A good friend of ours that we visited in Cathedral City had mentioned a friend of his bought a lot at Motorcoach Country Club, so we had a peek at their website before it was mentioned here, so I knew it was a beautiful spot indeed!
We're hoping to make it to Palm Creek RV Park in Arizona next year, as they apparently have a ton of amenities, of which my wife tends to be most excited about, as she can't sit still for long, and loves to keep busy!
Being new to the 'motorhome' community, I have a lot to catch up on, albeit, for now it's running quite nicely with no big issues thankfully. We'll start out with a month here and there, and possibly work up to longer trips over the years, although we're close to our grandkids, so that will be a challenge to our adventures I'm sure.
I assume you pull the pickup behind your coach? We had talked about doing so ourselves before deciding to buy a motorhome, as I've had pickups all my life. Still do, but it's an F450 dually 4X4, which certainly isn't needed, so downsizing would be the better way to go I'm sure, so lots to look in to on that front in the future!

Thanks Dale, Nice to hear from you and I appreciate the feedback. It's nice to know that folks are enjoying the posts and hopefully can perhaps learn something from our travels too. We had an F350 dually that we traded in for the F150 when we bought the Coach. The F150 is a much more civilized ride and that feature was certainly appreciated last summer when we drove almost 1,000 miles round trip on the Dalton Highway up to Prudhoe bay and back to Fairbanks.
