Today was a balmy 104!
Both A/C's are running full bore in the coach and the best we can get
is about 84 degrees inside.
The Southwest us suffering under an unseasonable heat wave with record
temps being set all over the place... Global Warming Anyone?
To beat the heat we went down to the lake. The cool clear water cools the air
and you notice a good 15 degree temp drop as you walk down the hill.
Staying at the campground includes use of the Pool at the Lake Powell Resort.
Does the fence keep the animals in... or out?
We stopped for a nice lunch overlooking the lake at the resort.
Later, by the lake we took this picture of Kate by this tall
Banana Yucca.
One of the great things about the west is if you don't like the weather....
change your altitude.
We are at 4,000 feet or so here at Lake Powell.
The heat wave is forecast to continue for at least 5 more days.
So Tuesday we are going to change our altitude and head up to the
Bryce Canyon National Park area in Utah.
We will be around 7,500 feet and the 5 day forecast shows temps in
the mid to upper 70's during the day and 40's at night.
Don't get hot.... get high!
Altitude, that is.
