The new digs and a new countdown

A lot has happened since my last post.

A trip to Charleston SC in early March resulted in a new land yacht.

We arrived at the James Island Campground with the old rig.

The next day we traded it for the new rig

Here are the two of them side by side.

A few shots of the inside once we got back and somewhat settled in.

Looking from the kitchen towards the rear.  Kate and the Doods are watching TV

Kitchen with super large fridge & freezer.
Just to the right (out of picture) is where I am setting up my office space with printer, scanner, files, and my office phone and communications gear.
Now I can stay set up and not have to keep moving my office at dinner time.

Looking forward from Living Room area.
The bedroom up forward has a king size bed, Dresser, Full closet, and attached full bathroom

It wasn't all relaxing on the couch however....
We were in Charleston so it was time to hit the road and see the sights.

Down every side street is an inviting courtyard

Even though is was early spring the city was fairly colorful.

After walking for about 5 hrs the Doods were ready to ditch us and go to sleep.

So we dropped them back off at the RV and joined the Navy

We visited the USS Yorktown.  It served in WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam

First Kate had to learn how to scramble to battle stations during General Quarters

Then to the "ready room" for debriefing.

Then I showed Kate where we would bunk for the night...
These bunks are actually more roomy than I recall.
We were 3-high in a rack.  You couldn't sit up in bed.

Kate gives a jet the go sign.

Then takes a turn at the helm.

The view from the bridge.

Finally the next day we moved a couple of hours up the coast to Huntington Beach State Park
Just south of Myrtle Beach SC.
We spent one more night there before heading home.

For the past month and a half we've been getting the new rig set up for our travels.
I've been doing some electrical upgrades such as larger batteries energy efficient lighting, and an inverter plus getting my office all set up.

In mid-May we are scheduled to take our show back on the road for a trip to Arizona and Utah.
For how long no one knows.
This year we plan to spend more time in each place and travel less.
We will be hitting some new places as well as revisiting some of our spots from last year.

Such as here.....

Stay tuned.
